Orginally from North Carolina, Lisa Moncure had been based in LA for more than 3 decades. Moncure has worked in theater, film & television. Work as an actor includes theater, various independent films, some really bad television and many TV commercials. Stage credits include an international tour with the Actors' Gang, performing original works created by this renowned theater company led by Tim Robbins. Favorite film acting gigs include playing a torch song singer in Pat O'Neil's, experimental feature, THE DECAY OF FICTION and the American journalist in Srdjan Dragojevic's PRETTY VILLAGE PRETTY FLAME, shot in Bosnia during the Balkan conflict in 1995.
As a filmmaker, Moncure has made several short films. Themes included in her filmmaking work are; intimacy, deception & mental health. Her film DROUGHT was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 2000, garnering numerous awards around the world. Her feature film project FLYFISHING IN AMERICA is currently in development. In 2006 Moncure became a mother, temporarily taking her filmmaking/actor hat off to raise her daughter. Lisa is honored to be creatively involved with this innovative art form called homela with her daughter, Vivienne. She teaches kundalini yoga in Mt Washington and has a lifelong passion for dance.
