J. Alex Mathews
J. Alex Mathews is an arts practitioner with a background in art-making, administration, and teaching. She attended UCLA's World Arts and Culture/Dance program and maintains a creative practice comprised of movement, collage, and poetry. Most recently, she took part in an artist fellowship called Animating the Archives: the Woman's Building and presented work at Avenue 50 Studio, Electric Lodge, and MiModa Studio. She currently serves as Director of Programming for Dance Resource Center, the hub and voice of Greater Los Angeles dance. She is also a Co-Chair for the Leadership Council of Emerging Arts Leaders/LA, a health facilitator for More Than Sex-Ed, and a yoga instructor. She loves the moon and avocado toast.
