On March 13th, homeLA Director Chloë Flores presented at the California Association of Museums Annual Conference, alongside Alex Sloane (MOCA) and Amanda Sroka (ICA LA), in a panel moderated by Samuel Vasquez.
Reframing Care: Equity and Institutional Shifts for Performance in Museums introduced the Shared Practices one sheet, a field-driven performance equity guide co-created by LA-based artists and curators from working group meetings at the Feminist Center for Creative work in March 2025 and the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA, LA) in December 2025 organized by choreographer and writer Dorothy Dubrule, curator Amanda Sroka of the ICA, and Chloë Flores of homeLA.
The panel broght together LA-based curators to share real-world insights on care, advocacy, and equity in live art. Through case studies and interactive dialogue, participants gained practical tools to rethink institutional practices and build more sustainable, equitable frameworks for performance in museums.
Shared Practices one sheet will be published in 2026.
Laying Groundwork for Shared Practices and Shared Practices has been supported by homeLA’s community and Betsy Greenberg.
