We Got the Grant!
In moments of collective grief and urgency, we are reminded that care, solidarity, and imagination are not separate from the work of building cultural futures—they are central to it. Even as we hold the weight of what is unfolding around us, we continue to invest in spaces where young people, artists, and communities can gather, create, and reimagine what is possible.
In this spirit, homeLA is grateful to share that we are recipients of a California Arts Council Arts and Youth Grant. This grant will support our spring education program, inSITE
This year, inSITE brings dance students from Ramón C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts into dialogue with the layered histories of Los Angeles State Historic Park through an eight-week process of site-based research and choreography. Guided by mentorship and place-responsive practice, students explore how lived experience and local histories can be translated into public performance.
homeLA is grateful for CAC's support of our education program. We were featured as part of a larger announcement in November from the California Arts Council of a total of 679 awards for nonprofit organizations and units of government throughout California. These grants comprise an investment of more than $19.5 million in support for the state’s arts and cultural landscape and creative workforce.
