Standing with Immigrant Communities in Los Angeles

June 27, 2025

At homeLA, we honor the many meanings of home—a physical space, a gathering place, counter-spaces, and the communities we build together. Today, as immigration raids continue across Los Angeles, our hearts remain with the individuals and families whose homes, safety, and sense of belonging are under threat.

As the director of an organization that explores the layered meanings of home in this city, I am reminded over and over again that home is where we live and also the placeless-place where we find refuge, dignity, and community.

When a home is threatened, it is not just a place at risk: it is the sanctuary of memory, community, and self.  We cannot stand idly by as that sanctuary is stripped away. Rather, we are called to extend our arms wider, to hold each other closer, and to remember that the smallest acts of solidarity can build the strongest homes. Advocacy takes many forms: it lives in our protests, our conversations, our calls to representatives, our shared resources, and in our everyday choices to care.

homeLA stands in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and the many organizations working tirelessly to provide protection, resources, and advocacy. Below are a few essential, community-driven resources offering legal support, emergency assistance, and information.

> Pieter Performance Space: No ICE in LA Resources

> ICA LA: Immigrant Resources

> CHIRLA - The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights

Let’s continue to protect each other, fight for each other, and remember that home is something we build together.

With care and solidarity,

Chloë Flores
