Shared Practices: A Framework for Presenting Performance in Visual Art Contexts
June 30, 2026
We’re excited to share the publication of Shared Practices, a free, collaboratively authored resource for presenting performance in visual art contexts.
Developed by Chloë Flores (homeLA), Dorothy Dubrule, and Amanda Sroka (ICA LA), Shared Practices emerged through two years of conversations and convenings with performers, curators, producers, educators, and museum professionals across Los Angeles. The framework reflects the insights, questions, and lived experience of the many artists and arts workers who generously contributed to its development.
Designed as a working document, Shared Practices offers preparatory questions to support more thoughtful planning, clearer communication, and stronger working relationships when presenting performance in visual art spaces. We hope you’ll download it, use it, share it with collaborators, and help shape its future by telling us how it works in practice.
